Eden Kennedy, founder of NaBloPoMo, National Blog Posting Month, has kindly granted us permission to align our monthly challenge with NaBloPoMo's monthly blogging theme, which we have done.

For those of you who maintain a blog, this is a great way of taking a theme and working many variants of it -- a good creative writing exercise, not to mention being fun. Bear in mind that anything you post to a public blog is considered a "publication" by some publishers who will not consider it acceptable for submission. One of the attractions of our challenge is that it gives you a space to try out some ideas without it being tagged "published."  And, of course, you can expect feedback in a safe setting.

Are blog postings a new form of mini-essay? I think they can be. What do you think?
